Weight Loss

Weight loss can be extremely difficult for some people and we understand that. Extra weight can do more than just cause you to be self-conscious about your appearance, it can also lead to potentially serious health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke and some types of cancer. Diet and exercise have been and continue to be the most beneficial options for weight loss, but luckily we have some options to help. We are excited to announce we are offering Semaglutide injections to help support your weigh loss journey. Semaglutide is a FDA approved medication generally used for the blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. This medication has been effective for weight loss in individuals who are overweight or obese.

Semaglutide works by mimicking a natural hormone in the body called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) which targets areas of the brain that regulate your appetite and food intake. GLP-1 also regulates gut hormones called incretins which signals our bodies that we are full when eating. In clinical trails, overweight or obese people who received Semaglutide acieved a 5.9% weight loss percentage at 3 months and a 10.9% weight loss percentage at 6 months.

Benefits of Semaglutide:

  • Appetite Reduction: This medication works by increasing the release of GLP-1 which decreases the appetite. This can lead to reduced food and calorie intake

  • Slowed Gastric Emptying: Semaglutide slows down emptying of the stomach, promoting feelings of fullness after meals. This can help reduce portion sizes and frequency of meals

  • Blood Glucose Control: This medication was approved for type 2 diabetes and assists in blood sugar regulation. This can result in better energy metabolism and reduced cravings for high sugar foods

  • Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Semaglutide helps the body to use insulin more efficiently. This can also help regulate blood glucose levels and in turn lead to weight loss

  • Improved Fat Metabolism: This medication may help your body burn fat for energy. This can contribute to weight loss by reducing fat accumulation
