Dermal Fillers in Louisville, KY

Restore softer, fuller, more balanced features – with results you'll see the same day.

Not every line is a muscle problem. As we age we lose fat, collagen, and bone in specific places, and the face begins to look flatter and more tired even at rest. Dermal fillers replace that lost structure.

At Beauty Bar & Wellness in Louisville, filler is not about adding as much as possible. It is about putting a small amount in the right place so you look rested rather than treated. Every appointment starts with a free consultation and an honest opinion, including when the answer is that filler is not what you need.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Most modern fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule your body already produces to hold water in the skin. Injected beneath the surface, it adds volume immediately and draws in moisture.

Because it is a substance your body recognizes, hyaluronic acid filler is gradually broken down over months. That is a feature, not a flaw. It means results are adjustable over time, and it means the effect can be reversed if you want it undone.

Fillers We Use

Restylane® – A broad family with formulations for lips, cheeks, and folds — one of the longest-established HA lines available

RHA® – Resilient hyaluronic acid, designed to move with the face. Well suited to expressive areas where stiffer filler can look obvious

Versa® – A smooth, versatile HA filler often chosen for lips and moderate lines

Belotero® – Blends finely into the skin, which suits delicate, superficial lines

What Dermal Fillers Can Treat

  • Lips — shape, definition, and hydration, from very subtle to fuller

  • Cheeks and midface — restoring the support that lifts everything below it

  • Chin and jawline — projection, balance, and a more defined lower face

  • Smile lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth

  • Marionette lines running down from the mouth corners

  • Temples and other areas that hollow with age

Some areas, the region directly under the eyes in particular, require extra caution and are not right for everyone. Your provider will tell you if that applies to you rather than treating it as routine.

Filler, Neuromodulator, or Biostimulator?

These three do genuinely different things, and being sold the wrong one is the most common way patients end up disappointed.

  • Filler replaces lost volume. Results are immediate.

  • Botox® and other neuromodulators soften lines caused by muscle movement.

  • Sculptra® and Radiesse® stimulate your own collagen over months, for gradual structural change.

Plenty of patients need some combination. Your provider will map out which concern each treatment is actually solving.

What To Expect

Before. A free consultation and facial assessment. We will discuss which areas are driving the way you look, what is realistic, and what it costs. Filler is priced by syringe, and you will know the number before we begin.

During. Typically 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many areas are treated. Most fillers contain built-in numbing, and we use topical numbing, ice, and vibration tools as well.

After. You will see a difference immediately, though swelling means the first few days are not the final result. Expect some swelling and possible bruising for three to seven days, more if lips were treated. Final results settle at about two weeks.

How long it lasts. Six months to around eighteen months, depending on the product, the area, and your metabolism. Lips generally metabolize faster than cheeks.

If you change your mind

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. If you dislike the result, or if a complication develops, it can be corrected. Very few aesthetic treatments offer that, and it is a real part of why HA filler is the standard.

Safety

Fillers are injected medical products and should only be placed by a trained medical provider who knows facial anatomy in detail. Elissa is a certified dermal filler and botulinum toxin nurse practitioner with a background in dermatology.

Common, expected effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, and small lumps that settle as the product integrates. Less common are prolonged swelling, nodules, or infection.

The serious risk with any filler is accidental injection into or compression of a blood vessel, which can affect the skin or, very rarely, vision. It is uncommon, and it is the main reason to care who is holding the syringe. We are trained to recognize it and keep hyaluronidase on hand to treat it immediately.

Tell your provider if you are pregnant or nursing, have an active skin infection or cold sore, have a history of significant allergies or autoimmune conditions, take blood thinners, or have had filler placed elsewhere.
